Repair procedures

Removal
1.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transaxle Assembly - “Engine Room Under Cover”)
2.
Drain the engine oil.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
3.
Remove the oil pan (A).
Insert the blade of SST(09215-3C000) between the ladder frame and the oil pan. Cut out applied sealer and remove the oil pan.

   
•
Insert the SST between the ladder frame and the oil pan by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of (1) arrow.
•
After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of (2) arrow around more than 2/3 edge of the oil pan, remove it from the ladder frame.
•
Do not turn over the SST abruptly without tapping as it may damage the SST.
•
Be careful not to damage the contacting surfaces of ladder frame and oil pan.
4.
Remove the oil screen (A).

Installation
1.
Install the oil screen (A).
Tightening torque :
9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

   
•
Apply engine oil on O-ring before installation of the engine oil screen.
•
Remove harmful dust or parts around assembled area of the oil screen.
2.
Using a gasket scraper, remove all the old packing material from the gasket surfaces.
3.
Before assembling the oil pan, the liquid sealant should be applied on lower oil pan.
Assemble the part within 5 minutes of applying sealant.
Bead width : 3.0 - 4.0 mm (0.12 - 0.16 in)
Sealant : TB1217H or LOCTITE 5900H

   
•
Clean the sealing face before assembling two parts.
•
Remove harmful foreign materials on the sealing face before applying sealant.
•
When applying sealant gasket, sealant must not protrude into the oil pan.
•
To prevent leakage of oil, apply sealant gasket to the inner threads of the bolt holes.
4.
Install the oil pan (A).
Uniformly tighten the bolts in several passes.
Tightening torque :
9.8 - 11.8 N·m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf·m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb·ft)

5.
Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
6.
Refill with the engine oil.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")
