Kia Picanto (JA): ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system / ISG system deactivation
- If you want to deactivate the ISG system, press the ISG OFF button. The light on the ISG OFF button will illuminate.
- If you press the ISG OFF button again, the system will be activated and the light on the ISG OFF button will turn off.
The ISG system will operate under the following condition: - The driver’s seat belt is fastened. - The driver’s door and hood are closed. - The brake vacuum pressure is adequate.
The system may not operate when: - The ISG related sensors or system error occurs. The yellow AUTO STOP indicator ( ) on the instrument cluster will stay on after blinking for 5 seconds and the light on the ISG OFF button will illuminate.

Repair procedures Inspection 1.Check for continuity between the terminals. If there is an abnormality, replace the switch. Removal • When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.

Repair procedures Inspection 1.Measure terminal - to - terminal resistance of blower resistor. 2.measured resistance is not within specification, the blower resistor must be replaced. (After removing the resistor) Replacement 1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
