Repair procedures

Replacement
1.
Remove the transaxle assembly.
(Refer to Manual Transaxle System - "Manual Transaxle")
2.
Remove the flywheel.
(Refer to Cylinder Block Assembly - "Flywheel")
3.
Remove the rear oil seal (A).

4.
Using the SST (09214-03100, 09231-H1100) and a plastic hammer, tap in a new oil seal (A) until SST surface is flush with the cylinder block.

Before assembling oil seal, the hardened sealant or hazardous material on the boundary area between cylinder block and ladder frame must be removed.
•
Apply engine oil to a new oil seal lip.
•
Install the oil seal by pressing it into the correct direction and be careful not to damage it.
5.
Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.

    Repair procedures Removal and Installation 1.Remove the cylinder head assembly. (Refer to Cylinder Head Assembly - "Cylinder Head") 2.

    Repair procedures Disassembly    • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.• To avoid damaging the cylinder head, wait until the engine coolant temperature drops below normal temperature (20°C [68°F]) before removing it.
