Description and operation
Installed
on the intercooler assembly, the Boost Pressure Sensor (BPS) measures
the pressure of the compressed air in turbocharger.

| 1. | Connect a KDS on the Data Link Connector (DLC). |
| 2. | Measure the output voltage of the BPS at idle and IG ON.

| 1. | Turn the ingnition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal. |
| 2. | Disconnect the boost pressure sensor connector (A). |
| 3. | Remove the sensor by loosening the mounting bolts (B).
Boost pressure sensor mounting bolt :
6.9 - 10.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf·m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb·ft) |

| Install the component to the specified torques. |

| Note
that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. If the
component has been dropped, inspect before installing. |

Self Diagnosis With Scan Tool
It
will be able to diagnose defects of SMART KEY system with KDS/GDS
quickly. KDS/GDS can operates actuator forcefully, input/output value
monitoring and self diagnosis. The following three features will be major problem in SMART KEY system.

1.Measure terminal - to - terminal resistance of blower resistor.
2.measured resistance is not within specification, the blower resistor must be replaced. (After removing the resistor)
Replacement
1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
