Repair procedures

Removal
1.
Turn ignition OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2.
Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe.

Be sure to completely remove foreign substances from around brake fluid reservoir and cap before opening the reservoir cap. Otherwise, it may cause contamination of brake fluid and deterioration in braking performance.
Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle as it may damage the paint. If brake fluid comes in contact with the paint, wash off immediately with water.
3.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
G 1.0 MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")
G 1.2 MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")
F 1.0 MPI (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")
4.
Loosen the bolt and then remove the CVVT oil control valve bracket (A) and connector bracket (B).

5.
Disconnect the brake tubes from the ESC by unlocking the nuts counterclockwise with a wrench.
Tightening torque
A : 12.7 - 16.7 N·m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf·m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb·ft)
B : 18.6 - 22.6 N·m (1.9 - 2.3 kgf·m, 13.7 - 16.6 lb·ft)

6.
Disconnect the ESC control module connector.

7.
Loosen the nuts and then remove the ESC control module (HECU).

Never attempt to disassemble the ESC.
The ABS must be transported and stored in.
Never shock to the ABS.
Installation
1.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
2.
After installation, bleed the brake system.
3.
Conduct the Variant coding.
4.
Conduct the Auto Detected Sensor Calibration.
5.
Conduct the Longitudinal G Sensor Calibration.
Diagnostic procedure by using diagnostic device
Perform diagnostic procedure by using diagnostic device as shown below:
Connect self-diagnosis connector (16pins) located under the driver side crash pad to self-diagnosis device, and then turn the self-diagnosis device after key is ON.
