Kia Picanto (JA): Cylinder Block Assembly / Rear Oil Seal
Repair procedures
| Replacement |
| 1. | Remove the transaxle assembly.
(Refer to Manual Transaxle System - "Manual Transaxle")
|
| 2. | Remove the flywheel.
(Refer to Cylinder Block Assembly - "Flywheel")
|
| 3. | Remove the rear oil seal (A).
|
| 4. | Using
the SST (09214-03100, 09231-H1100) and a plastic hammer, tap in a new
oil seal (A) until SST surface is flush with the cylinder block.
|
| 5. | Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal. |

Repair procedures Disassembly • Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.• To avoid damaging the cylinder head, wait until the engine coolant temperature drops below normal temperature (20°C [68°F]) before removing it.

Repair procedures Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Open the tailgate. 3. Loosen the high mounted stop lamp mounting nuts (A). 4. Disconnect the washer nozzle (A) and high mounted stop lamp connector (B). 5. Remove the high mounted stop lamp (C).
