Kia Picanto (JA): Driving your vehicle / ISG (Idle Stop and Go) system
Your vehicle may be equipped with the ISG system, which reduces fuel consumption by automatically shutting down the engine, when the vehicle is at a standstill. (For example : red light, stop sign and traffic jam)
The engine starts automatically as soon as the starting conditions are met.
The ISG system is ON whenever the engine is running.
NOTICE
When the engine automatically starts by the ISG system, some warning lights (ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, EPS or Parking brake warning light) may turn on for a few seconds. This happens because of low battery voltage. It does not mean the system has malfunctioned.
Manual Transaxle 1. When the vehicle is stationary, depress the clutch and brake pedal at the same time. 2. With the clutch and brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever into N (Neutral).

Repair procedures Removal Door Mirror Turn Signal Lamp 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the mirror (A) from the mirror holder. Be careful not to damage the fixing clips (A). 3. Disconnect the heating connectors (A) from the mirror.

Repair procedures Inspection 1. Connect the battery voltage and check the blower motor rotation. 2. If the blower motor voltage is not operated well, substitute with a known-good blower motor and check for proper operation. 3. If the problem is corrected, replace the blower motor.
