Description and operation

Description
Installed on the intercooler assembly, the Boost Pressure Sensor (BPS) measures the pressure of the compressed air in turbocharger.

Repair procedures

Inspection
1.
Connect a KDS on the Data Link Connector (DLC).
2.
Measure the output voltage of the BPS at idle and IG ON.

Removal
1.
Turn the ingnition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
2.
Disconnect the boost pressure sensor connector (A).
3.
Remove the sensor by loosening the mounting bolts (B).
Boost pressure sensor mounting bolt :
6.9 - 10.8 N·m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf·m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb·ft)

Installation
   
Install the component to the specified torques.
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. If the component has been dropped, inspect before installing.
1.
Install in the reverse order of removal.

    Specifications Specification Temperature[⁰C(⁰F)] Resistance(kΩ) -40(-40) 811.
