| Inspection |
| 1. | Place the vehicle on a level ground. |
| 2. | Start the engine to warm up the ATF. |
| 3. | Check by using KDS/GDS that the temperature of the ATF is between 70°C and 80°C (158 - 176°F). |
| 4. | Move the shift lever slowly from "P" to "D", then back to "P". Repeat this sequence a total of two times. |
| 5. | Remove the oil level gauge (A).

| 6. | Check
that the fluid level is in the "HOT" mark on the oil level gauge. If
fluid level is low, add automatic transaxle fluid until the level
reaches the "HOT" mark.

| Replacement |
| 1. | Start the engine.
|
| 2. | Remove the ATF drain plug (A), allow the fluid to drain out and then reinstall the drain plug.
|
| 3. | Refill the ATF through the ATF filler tube after removing the oil level gauge (A).
|
| 4. | Drive
the vehicle until the fluid temperature rises to 70 - 80°C (158 -
176°F), and then check the fluid level again. The fluid level must be at
the HOT mark. |
| 5. | Check the ATF level. (Refer to Hydraulic System - "Fulid") |
Repair procedures Inspection 1. Remove the air cleaner element. 2. Check that the air filter is excessively dirty. If the air filter is excessively dirty, replace the air cleaner element.
Repair procedures Inspection Battery Voltage and Status Check the battery voltage and status using the battery tester. Battery Terminal 1. Move back and forth to check that the battery terminals (A) are loose or corroded.
Repair procedures Removal 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the license lamp assembly (A) after pressing the locking pin. 3. Disconnect the license lamp connector (A). 4. Remove the license lamp bulb (B) after removing the license lamp socket (A).
Repair procedures Inspection • Wrap tin foil around the end of the voltmeter test lead to prevent damaging the heater line. Apply pressure on the tin foil with hand and move the tin foil along the grid line to check for open circuits.
